SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Part of the roof and fire escape at Travis Park United Methodist Church collapsed during the storm around 12:30 Friday morning.

“We were called for a structure collapse, but when the first crews arrived, they determined it was a partial roof collapse,” said Joe Arrington with the San Antonio Fire Department.

He told KTSA News a water pipe also burst, causing extensive water damage to the building on East Travis at Navarro Street.

Maintenance workers were called to help with the cleanup.  The damage is being assessed, and it has not been determined whether church services will go on as scheduled this weekend.
