Estate of Woman, 26, Who Died After a Fall Plans to Sue New London
New London, CT
NEW LONDON, CT – On Sept. 4, 2015 Emily Eshenfelder, 26, of Quaker Hill died when she fell accidentally near a New London business, officials have said.
Now her family is preparing to sue the city of New London claiming that Eshenfelder’s death was a result of negligence on the part of officials for failing to either inspect or condemn the rear fire escape and deck where she fell, the New London Day reports. An attorney has filed an intent to sue the city.
The suit goes on to say New London officials should have known the area, which is near 24-36 Bank Street, was hazardous to people and nothing was done to prevent people from accessing the area, the Day adds.
According to her death notice, Eshenfelder graduated from Waterford High School, and she worked in her family business as Manager of Captain Scotts Lobster Dock in New London.
